Electrical Assembly Operative

Location: Loughborough
Contract: 8‑week temporary assignment
Hours: Monday–Friday, 8 hours per day (40 hours per week)
Pay: £12.80–£13.00 per hour
Start: Immediate

We are seeking Experienced Electrical Assembly Operatives to join our clients team in Loughborough on an immediate 8‑week assignment. This role involves building, wiring, and assembling professional-grade systems.

You will be working in a clean, modern facility with a kind, supportive, and collaborative culture. Because this is an immediate‑start short-term assignment, operatives must be fully competent from day one with guidance but no requirement for long term training.

Key Responsibilities

  • Build and assemble environmental monitoring and data logging enclosures.
  • Terminate, strip, crimp, and route low‑voltage wiring to a professional panel‑build standard.
  • Wire and connect components including:
    • Terminal blocks
    • Surge protection modules
    • Dataloggers (e.g., CR1000X)
    • Communication modules and power systems
  • Organise and route cables neatly using ducting, strain relief, cable glands, and DIN‑rail components.
  • Read and work from wiring diagrams, sensor specifications, and assembly documentation.
  • Ensure all wiring is labelled, tested, and compliant with internal standards.
  • Conduct continuity checks and basic electrical testing.
  • Work efficiently and independently to meet production deadlines.

Required Skills & Experience

To be successful, you must already be competent in this type of work:

Essential

  • Proven experience in electrical wiring, panel building, or control box assembly.
  • Ability to work confidently with low‑voltage DC systems (12V/24V).
  • Familiarity with wiring techniques for sensors, analogue/digital inputs, and communications hardware.
  • Comfortable using hand tools for stripping, crimping, terminating, and cable routing.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings and wiring diagrams.
  • Strong attention to detail and pride in producing clean, organised wiring work.
  • Self‑motivated with the ability to start and complete tasks with minimal supervision.
